Bush's pick for Iraqi president convicted of $300 million embezzlement charge.
I think Bush is missing a fundamental difference between Iraq and the US - namely, there, they might actually care if an incompetant who is guilty of ethically repugnant business practices is the head of their country. Also, as the article notes, an Iraqi president who is appointed from the western devil, who also happens to be a convicted felon by a much more respected country in the region and who the people of Iraq don't actually want isn't going to go far. Now, I also understand that Bush doesn't understand things like "winning an election" generally are desired by other nations when selecting their democratic leaders, but in these times we have to make an effort to understand these odd beliefs other cultures practice. cranked out at 10:32 PM | |
