It's interesting what kind of social dynamic you get when you put a large number of people who normally wouldn't associate together in an atmosphere where the hierarchy is generally determined, to a significant degree, by an activity which has only a vague correlation to anything of real value. Added on to this is if you stipulate that many of the people have giant egos which are, sadly, substantiated by very little. This means that they are more than willing to interpret any gesture as infatuation, any interest whatsoever (even the fleeting interest one might have for something else which is in their path, be it this person, or a bookshelf) as unrestrained lust. cranked out at 10:34 PM | |
